The route, which is rich in variety, continues up the Lahn valley. Particularly aficionados of vistas and history will enjoy this stage No matter whether it is Nassau castle, the Schiefe Turm of Dausenau, a winged altar from the 15th century or the second oldest half-timbered town hall in Germany - one day will actually be much too short to visit everything. In the town of Nassau, nice places to take a break will ensure your physical well-being. On top of the Concordiaturm, on the Hohe Lay or on the Kuxlay, people who like impressive views will be happy. Hikers will master about 750 meters of ascent on this stage. To round off the day, you can treat yourself to a tasty Lahn wine in one of the cute wine taverns in the community of Obernhof. So, plan enough time to reward yourself!

Turn-by-turn directions

Right after the start at the Kurhaus the way leads through a parking garage! A very rare thing, to be sure, on Germany's hiking trails. Behind the car park the path will zigzag steeply uphill. Via the Bäderlei with the Heinzelmannshöhlen and numerous viewpoints you will finally reach the Concordiaturm tower with its viewing platform.

From here, the trail leads gently downhill until the city wall of Dausenau appears. We recommend leaving the Lahnwanderweg trail for a short while to stroll through the picturesque town center with the second oldest Gothic half-timbered town hall in Germany. You can also visit the Schiefe Turm.

After having visited the town, the Lahnwanderweg trail leads across the Lahn bridge and takes you steeply uphill to Kuxlay. High above the Lahn, a resting place can be found. If you have enough time, you should also make a detour to Nassau castle and enjoy the beautiful view. Passing the Freiherr-vom-Stein monument, you will reach Nassau with its pretty town hall.

Behind Nassau a forest path leads up to the Hohe Lay. Using a metal staircase, you can get to the viewing platform with a view of Arnstein monastery and Langenau castle. Behind Weinähr with the Gelbachufer, a well secured nature trail leads around a rocky outcrop to the Langenaublick. From there, Obernhof is quite close. Passing cozy wine taverns, you will sooner or later reach the Lahnbrücke.
