Turn-by-turn directions
Passing other school buildings, the way leads along a ridge. The hiker will come across yellow flowering broom bushes. This place will also provide a beautiful view into the Lahn valley. The trail continues past the rustic Kamel-Eiche and the "gebrannte Köpfchen" as well as along the Friedwald. Afterwards, you will be taken down to Saßmannshausen where the main road is crossed. A little bit further, it crosses the young Lahn at the Wahlbachsmühle. Afterwards, you are in for a challenging ascent to the Großgemeindestein where two small huts invite you to take a rest. This is the place where people commemorate the regional reform in 1975. Many trails meet at this stone which stands exactly in the middle of the new large municipality.
The sentier du Lahnwanderweg trail now leads further into the wild and romantic Ilsetal. On this idyllic section you should listen carefully since the chirping of birds and the splashing of the little river will delight the heart of every nature lover. Walking across a wooden footbridge, the route leads back into the forest. The Weidelbacher Weiher is a nice place for a short break and there is also a lot to discover for nature fans of all ages. Through the forest and past the Höhwegskopf, you will finally reach today's stage destination Feudingen with the hiking portal. Feudingen is a hiking-friendly village and offers both food and accommodation.
