The “Grüntensee“ is a 2.5 km long and approx. 11 m deep reservoir.
Completed in 1962, the lake is used for flood protection and power generation. It is named after the 1738 m high “Grünten“, a nearby mountain. On the shore of the “Grüntensee“ there are several sunbathing lawns and two camping sites. The “Grüntensee“ climbing forest is located near the dam on the northern shore of the lake. “Grüntensee“ is particularly rich in fish and therefore popular with fishermen.
