The Lahnwanderweg Trail

Route and Stages

Some prefer the dreamlike enchanted landscape at the source and in the upper Lahn valley, others the greater expanse of the floodplain landscapes in the middle Lahn valley and the wildly romantic lower Lahn valley, where the river meanders deep between towering cliffs, has its own fans. There are plenty of opportunities to unwind at your own walking pace.

The length of the 19 stages has been chosen so that there is enough time to enjoy and discover the villages, towns, castles and palaces. In the process, you can hike a well-dosed total of approx. 6,000 metres in altitude and discover small side valleys. If you want, you can even scramble through a few easy and well-secured via ferrata passages.

The marking - the red LW shows the way

The Lahnwanderweg trail is marked throughout with a red LW on a white background. Our path patrons have marked it through forest and field; village and town. Especially at the junctions and crossroads.

The access roads can be recognised by the yellow background.
